A N A C T

RELATING TO THE INCORPORATION OF CONGREGATION JESHUAT ISRAEL IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. An act passed on June 18, 1894 by the General Assembly at its May, 1894

Session entitled "An Act Incorporating A Congregation Jeshuat Israel In The City Of Newport",

as amended by an act passed on May 3, 1949 by the General Assembly at its January, 1949

Session entitled "An Act To Vacate The Forfeiture Of The Charter Of The Congregation Jeshuat

Israel" is hereby further amended to read as follows:

Sec. 2. Said corporation may take, hold, transmit and convey real and personal estate to

an amount not exceeding twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) without restriction as to amount.

Sec. 3. Said corporation shall also possess all the powers and privileges and be subject to

all the duties and liabilities set forth in title 7, chapter 6 of the general laws entitled "Rhode Island

Nonprofit Corporation Act," and in any acts in amendment thereof or in addition thereto.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
