A N A C T

RELATING TO EDUCATION -- PRIVATE SCHOOLS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 16-40-10.1 of the General Laws in Chapter 16-40 entitled "Private

Schools" is hereby repealed.

16-40-10.1. Katharine Gibbs School. -- Notwithstanding any rule, regulation or general

law to the contrary, the Katharine Gibbs School shall be authorized to grant associate degrees

provided that it is in compliance with the regulations and standards for approval adopted by the

board of regents for elementary and secondary education or the board of governors for higher

education, as appropriate.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
