A N A C T

RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY - THE FIRE SAFETY CODE -- GENERAL PROVISIONS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 23-28.1 of the General Laws entitled "Comprehensive Fire Safety

Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

23-28.1-7.1. Compliance extension for public school buildings. – Notwithstanding any

statute, rule, or regulation to the contrary, any provision of the code applicable to any public

school building which requires compliance by a date certain shall be extended to a date no earlier

than January 1, 2011.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
