A N A C T

RELATING TO TAXATION - TOWN OF HOPKINTON

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 44-5-2, the town council of the

town of Hopkinton is hereby authorized to levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004

and ending June 30, 2005 in excess of five and one-half percent (5.5%) in excess of the amount

levied and certified by the town for the prior year.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
