A N A C T

RELATING TO CITIES AND TOWNS - TAXATION - TOWN OF EXETER

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 44-5-2, the town council of the

town of Exeter is hereby authorized to levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004 and

ending June 30, 2005 in an amount not to exceed one hundred fourteen and one-tenth percent

(114.1%) of the amount levied and certified by the town of Exeter for the prior year, subject to

approval by a majority of electors of said town who are present and who vote at the annual

financial town meeting to be held on May 18, 2004.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
