A N A C T
EXEMPTING FROM TAXATION THE
PROPERTY OF THE PAWTUCKET, RI YOUNG
MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION

It is enacted by the General
Assembly as follows:
SECTION
1. Section 2 of the Public Laws of 1893, passed May 24, 1893, entitled "An
Act to Incorporate The Young Men's
Christian Association of Pawtucket, R.I." is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION
1. James R. MacColi, James L. Jencks, C. H. Fuller, George E. Newell, A.T.
Stratton, their associates and
successors are hereby made a corporation by the name of The
Young Men's Christian Association
of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, for the promotion of the
physical, social, metal and
spiritual welfare of young men, with all the powers and privileges, and
subject to all the duties and
liabilities, set forth in Chapter 152 of the public Statutes, and in any
acts in amendment thereof or in
addition thereto.
SECTION
2. Said corporation may take, hold, transmit and convey real and personal
estate to an amount not
exceeding four million dollars and all its property up to said valuation
and shall be exempt from taxation
as long as such property shall be occupied exclusively for the
objects set out in this act of
incorporation and no longer."

SECTION
3. The present officers of said association shall continue to hold their
respective offices under this
charter until their successors are duly elected and qualified.
SECTION
4. The present constitution and by-laws of said association shall become and
be the constitution and by-laws of
said corporation until the same are amended or otherwise
changed in the manner provided in
said constitution."
SECTION
2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
