A N A C T

RELATING TO TAXATION -- TOWN OF LINCOLN

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 44-5-2, the town council of the

town of Lincoln is hereby authorized to levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003 and

ending June 30, 2004, in the amount of one million four hundred thousand dollars ($1,400,000) in

addition to the levy cap of five and one-half percent (5.5%) for the fiscal year beginning July 1,

2003 and ending June 30, 2004 in order to make up a shortfall in the fiscal year tax levy

beginning July 1, 2002 and ending June 30, 2003.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
