AN ACT

RELATING TO INSURANCE -- HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATIONS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 27-41-26 of the General Laws in Chapter 27-41 entitled "Health

Maintenance Organizations" is hereby amended to read as follows:

27-41-26. Enrollee liability. – No enrollee is liable to any provider for charges for

covered health services, except for amounts due for copayments, when provided or made

available to enrolled participants by a licensed health maintenance organization during a period in

which premiums were paid by or on behalf of the enrollee.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
