AN ACT

RELATING TO TAXATION - - TOWN OF WESTERLY

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 44-5-2, the town council of the

town of Westerly is hereby authorized to levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003 and

ending June 30, 2004, in an amount not to exceed ten and seven one-hundredths percent (10.07%)

of the amount levied and certified by the town of Westerly for the prior year.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
