A N A C T

RELATING TO TAXATION - TOWN OF SCITUATE

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 44-5-2, the town council of the

town of Scituate is hereby authorized to levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003 and

ending June 30, 2004, in an amount not to exceed one hundred ten and one-tenth percent

(110.1%) of the amount levied and certified by the town of Scituate for the prior year, subject to

approval by a majority of the electors of said town who are present and who vote at the annual

financial town meeting to be held on April 8, 2003.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
