SECTION 1. The town of North Providence is hereby authorized to redistrict its town council and school committee districts as follows:

Town Council and School Committee District One:

District 1 shall consist of all of that part of the town bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the North Providence-Johnston boundary line and the North Providence-Smithfield boundary line; thence easterly along the North Providence-Smithfield boundary line to the North Providence-Lincoln boundary line; thence continuing easterly along the North Providence- Lincoln boundary line to Douglas Avenue; thence southeasterly on Douglas Avenue to Mineral Spring Avenue; thence westerly on Mineral Spring Avenue to Smithfield Road; thence southerly on Smithfield Road to Fruit Hill Avenue; thence southwesterly on Fruit Hill Avenue to Smith Street; thence northwesterly on Smith Street to Allen Avenue; thence southwesterly on Allen Avenue and its extension to the North Providence-Johnston boundary line; thence northwesterly along the North Providence-Johnston boundary line to the point of origin.

Town Council and School Committee District Two:

District 2 shall consist of all of that part of the town bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and the North Providence-Lincoln boundary line; thence easterly along the North Providence-Lincoln boundary line to the North Providence-Pawtucket boundary line; thence southerly along the North Providence-Pawtucket boundary line to the North Providence-Providence boundary line; thence northwesterly and southwesterly along the North Providence-Providence boundary line to Douglas Avenue; thence northwesterly on Douglas Avenue to the point of origin.

Town Council and School Committee District Three:

District 3 shall consist of all of that part of the town bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the North Providence-Johnston boundary line and the extension to Allen Avenue; thence northeasterly on Allen Avenue to Smith Street; thence southeasterly on Smith Street to Fruit Hill Avenue; thence northeasterly on Fruit Hill Avenue to Smithfield Road; thence northerly on Smithfield Road to Mineral Spring Avenue; thence easterly on Mineral Spring Avenue to Douglas Avenue; thence southeasterly on Douglas Avenue to the North Providence-Providence boundary line; thence southwesterly along the North Providence-Providence boundary line to the North Providence-Johnston boundary line; thence northeasterly along the North Providence-Johnston boundary line to the point of origin.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
