RELATING TO WATERS AND NAVIGATION -- OBSTRUCTIONS TO NAVIGATION

It is enacted
by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION
1. Section 46-6-5 of the General Laws in Chapter 46-6
entitled "Obstructions to Navigation" is hereby repealed.
46-6-5. Steamboat ashes in Providence
Harbor. -- No person shall throw or cause or permit to be
thrown into the waters of Providence River or Seekonk River or Narragansett Bay
north of a line from Nayatt Point to Rocky Point any cinders or ashes from any
steamboat. Every person violating the provisions of this section shall be fined
one hundred dollars ($100) for each offense, and the master and owners of any
steamboat from which any ashes shall be thrown into these waters shall be
liable for the fine. Complaints for violation of the provisions of this section
may be made before the district court for the sixth division.
SECTION
2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
