RELATING TO COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE - JURY LISTS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 9-10-7 of the General Laws in Chapter 9-10 entitled "Selection of Jury" is hereby amended to read as follows:

9-10-7. Disqualification by prior jury service -- No person summoned shall be qualified to serve as a juror who has served as a juror within two (2) three (3) years next preceding the time when he or she shall be so summoned; and the court shall, upon calling the person so summoned, inquire of him or her if he or she has so served.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
