A N A C T
RELATING TO PLUM BEACH LIGHTHOUSE
It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general, public, special or other law to the contrary, the State of Rhode Island is hereby authorized and empowered to sell, transfer, and convey in fee simple or otherwise, in the name of and for the state of Rhode Island, property situated in the Town of North Kingstown and known as Plum Beach Lighthouse, described as follows:
That certain parcel of sub-aqueous land, with all buildings and improvements thereon, on which the fixture known as the Plum Beach Lighthouse stands, which lighthouse is located approximately nine hundred (900) yards east of Plum Beach Point in the Town of North Kingstown, County of Washington, State of Rhode Island, and approximately three hundred (300) feet north of the Jamestown-Verrazzano Bridge.
Said lighthouse is further described as being located in the West Passage of Narragansett Bay at the Northerly end of Plum Beach Shoal on the West side of the channel, and is shown on survey chart number 353 of the United States Coast Guard with the geographical position of the lighthouse tower being located at Latitude North 41° , 31', 49" and Longitude West 71° , 24', 20".
The State of Rhode Island is hereby also authorized to convey any or all right, title and interest now held or later acquired by the state in and to Plum Beach Lighthouse, together with improvements thereupon, in such manner and upon such terms and conditions as may in the judgment of the State of Rhode Island to be most advantageous to the public interest.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
