RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- AWARD OF MUNICIPAL CONTRACTS IN
NORTH SMITHFIELD

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 45-55-5.2 of the General Laws in Chapter 45-55 entitled "Award of Municipal Contracts" is hereby amended to read as follows:

45-55-5.2. Town of North Smithfield - Exemption. -- The town of North Smithfield is exempt from the provisions of this chapter with regard to the contracting for fire and rescue services with the Primrose Volunteer Fire Department and North Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department and/or their respective successors and assigns.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
