It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 5-65 of the General Laws entitled "Contractors' Registration" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

5-65-23. Registration required as part of bidding process. -- Whenever any bid is solicited by the state or any municipality or private party in the state of Rhode Island, the license number of any bidder who is a contractor required to be licensed under the laws of the state of Rhode Island, shall be provided by such bidder. A space on the bid form, quotation, proposal or other document shall indicate the bid price to perform the particular work involved and shall also indicate the license number of the contractor as issued by the state of Rhode Island, to perform that work.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
