It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 27-41 of the General Laws entitled "Health Maintenance Organizations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

27-41-61. Temporary credentials. -- Notwithstanding any requirements of any health maintenance organization accrediting body or organization to the contrary, each health maintenance organization licensed under this chapter may credential a provider on a conditional basis while the health maintenance organization reviews the application submitted by such provider for inclusion in the health maintenance organization network or networks.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
