It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. There shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the town of Charlestown, Rhode Island on November 7, 2000, for their approval the following nonbinding referendum question:

"Shall the town of Charlestown withdraw from the Chariho School District and create their own independent school system?"

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
