S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF CHRYSOULA ZERVA

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of

Chrysoula Zerva, the wife of the late Nicholas Zerva; and

     WHEREAS, Chrysoula Zerva was born in Veria, Greece, the daughter of the late George

and Despina Cheamitrou. She was a devoted wife and mother who worked tirelessly to provide

for her family and loved ones as a seamstress for JC Penney and many local businesses; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Zerva was a superb cook, as was her husband Nicholas, and together

their kitchen provided wondrously delicious foods and meals for family and friends. She always

enjoyed social get-together celebrations and good conversations about numerous topics,

especially her beloved Greece when her sisters-in-law Tasula and Petrula would visit. She was

also heavily involved with St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church and the Ladies

Auxiliary; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Zerva is survived by her daughter, Jennie Kithes and her husband,

George, her son, Lambri Zerva and his wife, Stephanie, and six grandchildren, Alexander Kithes,

Ariana Kithes and her husband, Juliano Aaraj, Kayla, Jordan, Nicholas, and Stephen Zerva. She

was predeceased by her siblings, John, Dimitri and Antoni Cheamitrou, and Marika Ghitsas; now,

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest

condolences on the passing of Chrysoula Zerva; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Jennie Kithes and Lambri Zerva.
