RELATING TO MAKING APPROPRIATIONS IN SUPPORT OF FY 2022

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Without modifying other appropriations made, subject to the conditions,

2

limitations and restrictions hereinafter contained in this act, the following general revenue amounts

3

are hereby appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated to be expended

4

during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. The amounts identified for federal funds and restricted

5

receipts shall be made available pursuant to § 35-4-22 and Chapter 41 of Title 42 of the Rhode

6

Island General Laws. For the purposes and functions hereinafter mentioned, the state controller is

7

hereby authorized and directed to draw his or her orders upon the general treasurer for the payment

8

of such sums or such portions thereof as may be required from time to time upon receipt by him or

9

her of properly authenticated vouchers:

Provided that $250,000 shall be for the children’s cabinet, established under Chapter 72.5 of Title

42, to assist with the planning for an early childhood governance structure of and for the transition

15

of established early childhood programs to such an office.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

RELATING TO MAKING APPROPRIATIONS IN SUPPORT OF FY 2022

     This act would appropriate $250,000 for the children’s cabinet pursuant to chapter 42-72.5

2

and $2,500,000 for the graduate medical education programs, of which $1,000,000 is for hospitals

3

designated as level I trauma centers, $1,000,000 for hospitals providing neonatal intensive care

4

level of care and $500,000 for the residential training program at Landmark Hospital.

5

     This act would take effect upon passage.
