EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JONATHAN WEISS | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
2 | Jonathan Weiss, the devoted husband to Aleen Weiss for twenty-nine years, and the beloved son |
3 | of Howard and Elaine Weiss; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Mr. Weiss was a graduate of Classical High School, where he served as |
5 | Class Treasurer. He graduated from the Georgetown University School of Business |
6 | Administration, and later received a Master’s degree from the George Washington University |
7 | School of Computer Science; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mr. Weiss was a smart and hard-working man who returned to Rhode Island |
9 | to help run the family business, National Business Furniture, with his grandfather, Nathan, and |
10 | father, Howard, and later served as Executive Vice President. He also served as the Executive |
11 | Vice President of Weiss Properties, Weiss Realty LLC, and Lancaster Realty LLC, and worked |
12 | alongside his maternal grandfather, Saul Spitz, as a managing broker at Spitz Weiss Realtors, |
13 | where he was later joined by his wife, Aleen; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Mr. Weiss was an active member of The Georgetown University Alumni |
15 | Association, and served on the Board of Directors at Temple Beth-El in Providence. He was also |
16 | a member of the Aurora Civic Association, and remained close to his many friends from Camp |
17 | Buercrest, Classical High School, and Georgetown University. He was known for his smart and |
18 | witty humor, his love of music, especially classic rock, for being a loyal and passionate |
19 | Georgetown Hoyas fan, and his enduring loyalty to his family and friends; and |
20 | WHEREAS, Jonathan Weiss leaves behind his wife, Aleen Weiss, daughters Marni |

1 | Weiss and Nina Weiss and her fiancé, Nick Lorusso, his sister Margery Morris, his brother-in-law |
2 | Steven Morris, and his niece and nephew Jaclyn and Tyler Morris; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest |
4 | condolences on the passing of Jonathan Weiss; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Aleen Weiss and Family. |
