EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF VERNA CARDENTE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Verna |
2 | Cardente. She was born in Providence the daughter of the late Albert and Prudenza Norato; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Cardente was a devoted mother and a hardworking woman who strived |
4 | daily to provide for her family and loved ones. She worked for many years for her brother as a |
5 | hostess at Smiths Restaurant before retiring. She was also a woman of deep faith and a devout |
6 | Catholic who was a very caring and loving person; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Cardente leaves behind her children Lorelei Flynn, Thomas Cardente |
8 | and Albert Cardente. She was also the doting grandmother of seven grandchildren and great- |
9 | grandmother of three. In addition, she leaves behind her siblings Ilene DiMaio and Albert Norato |
10 | and was the sister of the late Concetta Ronci, Evelyn DeRouin and Alfonso Norato. She is also |
11 | survived by many nieces and nephews and her caregiver and friend, Lizabeth Cardente. She was |
12 | the former wife of the late Domenic Cardente; now, therefore be it |
13 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest |
14 | condolences on the passing of Verna Cardente; and be it further |
15 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
16 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Lorelei Flynn, Thomas Cardente and Albert |
17 | Cardente. |
