EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE MATTEO D. | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Matteo D. |
2 | Castigliego, beloved husband of Rosemary Castigliego for fifty-eight years, devoted father of |
3 | Dawn Sequino and her husband, David, PJ Castigliego, and Scott Castigliego and his wife, Susan. |
4 | He was also the very proud grandfather of Brittany Lee Sequino, Cody Michael Sequino, Scott |
5 | Castigliego Jr., Shayna Castigliego and Rachel Castigliego, and great-grandfather of Milani Jade |
6 | Sequino-Ziki; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Mr. Castigliego was the son of the late Paul and Theresa Castigliego, and |
8 | the brother of the late Louise Diorio and Paula Cruz. He had made his home in Bristol for many |
9 | years before moving to Warren; and |
10 | WHEREAS, An astute and industrious man, Mr. Castigliego had been the owner and |
11 | operator of many businesses throughout his lifetime including, Pak-o-Matic Waste Disposal |
12 | throughout the '70s and '80s, Matteo's Restaurant, and Castigliego's Fish and Chips, to name just a |
13 | few; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Always an active and contributing member of his community, Mr. |
15 | Castigliego was one of the founding members of the Warren Quahog Festival, served as the |
16 | President of the Rotary Club, was a member of the Warren Town Planning Board, and was |
17 | elected to the Warren Town Council and served for many years. In addition, for many years, he |
18 | had coached baseball for the Warren Little League, earning the love and respect of his team; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Matteo Castigliego was a kind gentleman who was blessed with a loving |

1 | family with whom he adored spending time and vacationing at his condo in Florida. He will |
2 | always be fondly remembered and deeply missed; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses deepest |
4 | sympathy on the passing of Matteo D. Castigliego; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Rosemary Castigliego and Family. |
