J O I N T   R E S O L U T I O N

RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF HEALTH AND HUMAN

SERVICES TO INCREASE RATES FOR EARLY INTERVENTION AND FIRST

CONNECTION PROGRAMS

     WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 8 of Title 40 "Medical Assistance", the Executive

Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) has the authority to set rates for Medicaid

services; and

     WHEREAS, To ensure better care for Medicaid members requiring early intervention

services, the EOHHS needs to implement an increase for early intervention and first connections

programs in order to pay competitive wages for qualified professionals; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this General Assembly of the State of Rhode Island hereby

respectfully requests that the Executive Office of Health and Human Services increases Medicaid

rates for early intervention services and first connection programs; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Executive Office of Health

and Human Services.
