H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JEREMY POMFRET

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Jeremy

Pomfret, the loving husband of Kerry Pomfret for twelve years; and

     WHEREAS, Jeremy Pomfret was born in Woonsocket, a son of Elizabeth Pomfret and

the late Robert Pomfret. He was a beloved “people person” who naturally excelled in his sales

position with Rhode Island Novelty for twenty-one years. He was widely admired for his tireless

work ethic, and business acumen. He always provided his customers with superior service and

maintained long-term relationships with many of his customers; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Pomfret had many hobbies and interests. In his free time, he was an

avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, spending time at the beach, and spending his days off

relaxing at Johnson’s Pond and going on vacations with his family. He was also a longtime and

passionate fan of the Boston Bruins. His family, friends and colleagues always enjoyed his sense

of humor and willingness to have a good time; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife Kerry, Mr. Pomfret leaves behind his son, Jackson

Pomfret, and his siblings, Matthew Pomfret, Beth Ann Platt and her husband, Michael, Brian

Pomfret and his wife, Cheryl, Peter Pomfret and his wife, Melissa, and John Pomfret and his

spouse, Joey. He was the brother of the late Robert Pomfret. He was the son-in-law to Gary

Perschau, and the late Janet Perschau, and was the brother-in-law to Kim Perschau. He was the

uncle to many nieces, nephews and also leaves behind many friends; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Jeremy Pomfret; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Kerry Pomfret and Family.
