RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES -- REGISTRATION OF VEHICLES | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 31-3-10 of the General Laws in Chapter 31-3 entitled "Registration |
2 | of Vehicles" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 31-3-10. Issuance of registration plates. |
4 | (a) The division of motor vehicles, upon registering a vehicle, shall issue to the owner one |
5 | fully reflective registration plate for each motorcycle, trailer, semi-trailer, in-transit vehicle, |
6 | transporter, bailee vehicle, or a dealer vehicle and two (2) fully reflective registration plates for |
7 | every other motor vehicle. Application for and issuance of so-called commercial registration plates |
8 | shall be provided at all offices maintained by the administrator of the division of motor vehicles |
9 | under § 31-2-6. |
10 | (b) No fee or surcharge, other than the fees and charges authorized pursuant to § 39-18.1- |
11 | 4, shall be added to any motor vehicle registration as a result of the issuance of any new registration |
12 | plate. |
13 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
