     RESOLVED, That the special task force created by resolution No. 328 passed by the

Senate at its January session, A.D. 2018, and approved June 20, 2018, entitled "Senate Resolution

3

Creating a Special Task Force to Investigate and Make Recommendations for any Changes to the

4

Law, Court Rules or to Policies and Procedures Currently in Place to Enhance the Timely and

5

Complete Disclosure of Discoverable Material in Criminal Cases" is hereby authorized to

6

continue its study and make a report to the President of the Senate, the Governor, the Chief

7

Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court, the Presiding Justice of the Superior Court, the Chief

8

Judge of the District Court, and the Chief Judge of the Family Court, on or before September 1,

9

2021.

     RESOLVED, That the time for reporting authorized by resolution No. 3328 passed by the

11

Senate at its January session, A.D. 2018, and approved June 20, 2018, be and the same is hereby

12

rescinded.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

OF

S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

     EXTENDING THE REPORTING DATE OF THE SPECIAL TASK FORCE TO

INVESTIGATE AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ANY CHANGES TO THE LAW,

COURT RULES OR TO POLICIES AND PROCEDURES CURRENTLY IN PLACE TO

ENHANCE THE TIMELY AND COMPLETE DISCLOSURE OF DISCOVERABLE

MATERIAL IN CRIMINAL CASES

     This resolution would extend the reporting date of the special taskforce to investigate and

2

make recommendations for any changes to the law, court rules or to policies and procedures

3

currently in place to enhance the timely and complete disclosure of discoverable material in

4

criminal cases from January 1, 2020, to September 1, 2021, and said task force would expire on

5

January 1, 2022.
