EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF DEACON ANTHONY E.

MUSCATELLI

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Deacon

2

Anthony E. Muscatelli, the devoted husband of Sonya Muscatelli for 47 years, the cherished

3

father of Daniel Muscatelli, Arlene Drazek, and Crystal Day, and the very proud grandfather of

4

Nicholas and Vincent; and

5

     WHEREAS, Born in the City of Providence, Anthony Muscatelli was the son of the late

6

Salvatore and Genevieve Muscatelli, and the brother of Anne Vieira and her husband, John, and

7

the late Marylee Abanilla. He was a graduate of Hope High School, earned his Bachelor's degree

8

in Construction Technology from Roger Williams College, now Roger Williams University, and

9

a degree in Divinity from Providence College; and

10

     WHEREAS, In 1986, Deacon Muscatelli settled in the Town of Smithfield. He was

11

employed as a civil engineer and licensed Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.), and was the

12

founder and owner of International Mapping and Surveying Corporation, a member of the Rhode

13

Island Society of Professional Land Surveyors, and, from 1982 until his passing, had been the

14

surveyor for the Town of Smithfield; and

15

     WHEREAS, In 2002, Deacon Muscatelli was ordained to the Diaconate. For eleven

16

years, he served his beloved parish family at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Pascoag,

17

and later at Saint Philip's Roman Catholic Church in Greenville, where he remained until his

18

passing; and

19

     WHEREAS, Also devoted to community and altruistic civic endeavors, Deacon

Muscatelli was a member of the Smithfield Lions for more than thirty years, serving as President

2

for several years, and had volunteered with myriad charitable causes throughout the country and

3

the world; and

4

     WHEREAS, Deacon Anthony Muscatelli was a deeply spiritual, humble, dedicated, and

5

selfless servant of God, who devoted his life to others. He was a loving father, brother,

6

grandfather, uncle, cousin and loyal friend and he will be dearly missed by all who had the good

7

fortune to be part of his glorious life; now, therefore be it

8

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses our deepest

9

sympathies on the passing of Deacon Anthony E. Muscatelli; and be it further

10

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

11

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Sonya Muscatelli and Family.
