S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF STEPHEN P. BRUN

     WHEREAS, Stephen P. Brun was born in Providence, son of the late Manuel and

2

Anastasia Brun. He was a 1965 graduate of East Providence High School and graduated from

3

Roger Williams College with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Brun had a long and distinguished career as a member of the United

5

States Air Force, where he served our nation with honor and distinction. He reached the rank of

6

Major in the United States Air Force Reserve and was a navigator on the KC-135. He also served

7

as the United States Air Force liaison to the Rhode Island Civil Air Patrol; and

8

     WHEREAS, Mr. Brun was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed baseball, bowling, chess,

9

golf, sailing and tennis. He was a baseball coach for the East Providence Central Little League

10

and a tennis coach for Our Lady of Providence. He also served as a tennis instructor for the City

11

of East Providence, and was the co-owner of The Indoor Tennis Court. He was a passionate fan

12

of the New York Giants, and had loved watching Boston Celtics games with his mother; and

13

     WHEREAS, Mr. Brun is survived by a brother, Thomas Brun and his wife, Deborah, a

14

sister, Johanna Quattrucci, and her daughter, Melissa Quattrucci; now, therefore be it

15

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its

16

condolences to the Brun Family on the passing of Stephen P. Brun; and be it further

17

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

 

1

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Thomas Brun and Johanna Quattrucci.
