TITLE 16 CHAPTER 97 – THE RHODE ISLAND BOARD OF EDUCATION ACT] | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-2 of the General Laws entitled "School Committees and |
2 | Superintendents [See Title 16 Chapter 97 - The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby |
3 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
4 | 16-2-36. Orientation. |
5 | All public schools shall, prior to September 1 of each year, make every effort to provide |
6 | written notice to parents, guardians or caretakers of students inviting those parents, guardians or |
7 | caretakers to attend orientation at the school within thirty (30) days from the start of the school |
8 | year. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
