EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF ALDEA L. LEITAO

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Aldea

2

L. Leitao, beloved wife of the late George Leitao, and the cherished mother of Charles Leitao,

3

James Leitao, Lorie Vieira and her fiancé, Lloyd, Tina Champagne and her husband, Roger, and

4

Maryanne Williamson and her husband, Timothy; and

5

     WHEREAS, Born in West Warwick, Aldea Desrosiers was a devoted daughter of the late

6

Ovila and Lea Desrosiers, and the loving sister of the late Charles Desrosiers, Ovila Desrosiers,

7

Jr., Jean-Paul Desrosiers, Joseph Desrosiers, and Carmelle Steup; and

8

     WHEREAS, In addition to making a wonderful home for her family, Mrs. Leitao had

9

been employed at the former Almacs Supermarket in West Warwick for more than ten years

10

before retiring in 1983; and

11

     WHEREAS, Active in the community, Mrs. Leitao was a member of the Ladies of St.

12

Anne Sodality of SS. John and James Church, the Daughters of Isabella – The Nina Circle # 67

13

of West Warwick, and the West Warwick A.A.R.P. – Chapter # 2210; and

14

     WHEREAS, With a kind and loving personality, Aldea L. Leitao created and nurtured a

15

marriage that flourished and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her family and

16

was especially proud of her nine grandchildren, Keith Vieira, Brian Vieira, Adam Leitao,

17

Alexandra Leitao, Nicole Leitao, Amanda Leitao, Connor Williamson, and Avery Williamson,

18

and four great-grandchildren, Mason Leitao, Laila Lucabaugh, Luke Lucabaugh, and Peyton

19

Lemery; and

20

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Aldea Leitao, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and

great-grandmother, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she will

2

be dearly missed; now, therefore be it

3

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

4

hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Aldea L. Leitao; and be it further

5

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

6

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Charles Leitao, James Leitao, Lorie Vieira,

7

Tina Champagne and Family, and Maryanne Williamson and Family.
