EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE JUSTICE | |

1 | WHEREAS, The Honorable Louis Azar of Lincoln, passed away on March 29, 2019. He |
2 | was the beloved husband of the late Marie Azar; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Judge Azar was born in Central Falls, a son of the late Joseph and Ella Azar, |
4 | and had lived in Lincoln for the last 51 years. He was a graduate of Central Falls High School and |
5 | attained a Bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a Juris Doctorate from Boston |
6 | University School of Law; and |
7 | WHEREAS, A distinguished lawyer, who had a law practice in Pawtucket for more than |
8 | fifty years, Judge Azar was appointed to serve as a Probate Judge in the City of Central Falls and |
9 | also served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army; and |
10 | WHEREAS, Judge Azar served for twenty-five years as a member of the Lincoln Town |
11 | Democratic Committee, was the Past-President of the Pawtucket Bar Association, and was a |
12 | communicant of the Church of St. Basil the Great. He was a man of integrity who served the |
13 | public with tireless dedication. He was also a devoted family man and a great friend to many; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Judge Azar is survived by his children, Pamela Azar, Patricia Antonelli, |
15 | Priscilla Azar, Paula Wilson, Louis Azar, Jr., and his wife, Patricia, and Dr. Anthony Azar, and |
16 | his wife, Dawn. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara Deeb, Joseph Azar, Jr., and Robert |
17 | Azar. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alexander Elias Azar, Surrey Azar, Richard |
18 | Wilson, David Wilson, Don-Anthony Azar, his sister-in-law, Arabella Melucci, several nieces |
19 | and nephews, and family friend, Kathie Toner. He was the father of the late Richard Azar; now, |

2 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
3 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses its condolences on the passing of the Honorable Louis E. |
4 | Azar; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Pamela M. Azar, Patricia A. Antonelli, Priscilla |
