EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF RICHARD RUSSELL | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this House has learned of the passing of |
2 | Richard Russell Nabb, the beloved husband of Gina Nabb, the loving father of two daughters, |
3 | Kristin and her husband, Jonathan, and Sheri, and the very proud papa of Jonathan, who is |
4 | affectionately known as “JJ”; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Rick, as he was known to his family and many friends, |
6 | was the devoted son of the late Alton and Eleanor Nabb, and the loving brother of Kevin Nabb, |
7 | Karen Luth and her husband, Fred, Kathy Tipirneni and her husband, Prabhakar, Ellen Szymanski |
8 | and her husband, Jim, Robert Nabb and his wife, Judy, his brother-in-law, Joe Giannitti and his |
9 | wife, Debra, and his sister-in-law Marie Bocuzzo and her husband, Sandy, as well as many |
10 | adored nieces and nephews; and |
11 | WHEREAS, A natural leader throughout his life, Mr. Nabb earned the distinction of |
12 | becoming an Eagle Scout at the young age of 14. He graduated from Pilgrim High School, where |
13 | he served as Class President for all four years, was the Captain of the wrestling and tennis teams, |
14 | and was awarded All State & All New England Honors in wrestling. Continuing his education, he |
15 | graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical |
16 | Engineering and was a member of the wrestling team, the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and the |
17 | Skull Honor Society; and |
18 | WHEREAS, For thirty years, Mr. Nabb was employed at Clairol/Bristol Myers Squibb, |
19 | where he held myriad positions including, Engineering Manager at the company's division in |

1 | Stamford, Connecticut, and Plant Manager in Camarillo, California. He was also the Vice |
2 | President of Americas and Supply Chain Strategic Planning in Princeton, New Jersey, and |
3 | worked with Schering-Plough Company/Merck in Kenilworth, New Jersey, as the Vice President |
4 | of Strategic Sourcing. Even in retirement, he continued to work, retained as a consultant for |
5 | Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals and G & W laboratory; and |
6 | WHEREAS, In addition to his time with his family which always came first in his heart, |
7 | Mr. Nabb enjoyed playing tennis and golf, photography, ballroom dancing, woodworking, and |
8 | was an avid New England Patriots fan. He was a member of the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis |
9 | Club, Belmar Fishing Club, The Wyndemere County Club in Naples, Florida, and was a member |
10 | of the Manasquan United Methodist Church where he served as Chairperson on the Finance |
11 | Committee; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Throughout his life and in spite of his nine month battle with his health, Mr. |
13 | Nabb maintained the ability to connect with anyone he met and had an unending love for his |
14 | family. His humor and infectious smile, and his generosity, courage and dignity were endearing |
15 | and inspiring, and he will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to have shared his |
16 | glorious life; now, therefore be it |
17 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
18 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Richard |
19 | Russell Nabb; and be it further |
20 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
21 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Gina Nabb and Family. |
