EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF DONALD J. MARONEY, | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House of Representatives has learned of the |
2 | passing of Donald J. Maroney, Esq., devoted husband of Donna Maroney, and the loving father of |
3 | Donald, Jackie, Jennifer, and Cory; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Donald was a son of the late Stephen and Dorothy |
5 | Maroney and the brother of a twin, Dennis, and Stephen, Mary Anne, Kevin, Patricia, and the late |
6 | Edward Maroney. He was a graduate of Providence College and Bryant University, and had |
7 | earned his Juris Doctor at Vermont School of Law; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Upon graduating and passing the Bar, Donald became a partner at the firm |
9 | of Kelly, Kelleher, Reilly and Simpson, where he worked for more than thirty years. He had also |
10 | proudly served as solicitor to the Towns of North Kingstown and Narragansett, and was admired |
11 | and respected by his peers for his legal drafting abilities during his tenure on the staff of the |
12 | Office of Legislative Council to the General Assembly; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Always a devoted family man, Don took great pride in keeping his yard |
14 | manicured to perfection, and spending quality time vacationing with his wife and children; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Donald Maroney possessed an astute legal mind, and an independent and |
16 | magnanimous spirit, and his "words of wisdom" will be profoundly missed by those who had the |
17 | good fortune to be a part of his vital and fulfilling life; now, therefore be it |
18 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
19 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the entire Maroney Family on |

1 | the passing of Donald J. Maroney, Esq.; and be it further |
2 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
3 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Donna Maroney and Family. |
