EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF GAIL B. COOK | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Gail B. |
2 | Cook, the beloved wife of the late Donald "Cookie" Cook, and cherished mother of Michael R. |
3 | Cook, Debra Cook Bujnovsky and her husband, John, Daniel P. Cook and his wife, Elise, and |
4 | Rebecca A. Cook Leveillee and her husband, Merrill; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Mrs. Cook was the loving daughter of the late Olen and |
6 | Stella Parker, and the sister of Jerome Parker, Gwin Rosati, and the late Olen Parker, Jean Allen, |
7 | and Lois Howard; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Cook was blessed with a large and loving family and many friends. |
9 | She doted on her loved ones, and was particularly proud of her eight grandchildren and six great- |
10 | grandchildren; and |
11 | WHEREAS, In addition to making a wonderful home for her family, Mrs. Cook served |
12 | the people of Warwick under three Mayors. She was secretary to Mayor Philip W. Noel in |
13 | Warwick, and continued to serve him as his secretary when he became the Governor of Rhode |
14 | Island. In 1997, she returned to Warwick City Hall, where she served as secretary to Mayor |
15 | Joseph W. Walsh, and subsequently to Mayor Francis X. Flaherty; and |
16 | WHEREAS, In 1990, Mrs. Cook transferred to the Tax Collector's Office, retiring |
17 | thirteen years later in 2003; and |
18 | WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Gail Cook, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, |
19 | great-grandmother and friend to many, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and |
20 | loved, and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |

1 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
2 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Gail B. Cook; |
3 | and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Michael Cook, Debra Cook Bujnovsky, Daniel |
6 | Cook, and Rebecca Cook Leveillee. |
