SPEED-ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM ACT OF 2016 | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 31-41.3 of the General Laws entitled "Automated School-Zone- |
2 | Speed-Enforcement System Act of 2016" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following |
3 | section: |
4 | 31-41.3-16. Payment of violations - Restricted receipt account - School safety. |
5 | All revenue generated by the cities or towns pursuant to this chapter from violations of |
6 | the automated school-zone-speed-enforcement systems shall be placed in a restricted receipt |
7 | account to support programs designed to enhance school safety. The cities and towns operating an |
8 | automated school-zone-speed-enforcement system shall be entitled to deduct the reasonable |
9 | expenses associated with the operation and maintenance of the system prior to placement of any |
10 | funds into the restricted receipt account. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
