EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ROSE ALAHVERDIAN | |

1 | WHEREAS, Rose Alahverdian of Cranston and Narragansett, passed away on January |
2 | 25, 2019, surrounded by her adoring family. She was the loving wife of the late Harry |
3 | Alahverdian; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Alahverdian was born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, the daughter of |
5 | the late Haigaz and Aznive Shenian. She was a High Honor graduate of Northbridge High School |
6 | in 1942 and was formerly employed by Whitin Machine Works and the Providence Base Plant- |
7 | Division of the General Electric Company; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Rose Alahverdian was a woman of strong faith. She was a devoted |
9 | communicant of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence. She was also very |
10 | active in community and civic affairs and had been a past member of the Cranston School PTA, |
11 | Cranston Senior Citizens, and was a past member of the National Association of Retired Federal |
12 | Employees; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Rose Alahverdian is survived by her children, Lisa Johnson and her |
14 | husband, Clifton, and Harry Alahverdian and his wife, Karen, and her grandson, Haigez |
15 | Alahverdian, and her sister Agnes Muradian. She also leaves behind her niece, Alice McMasters, |
16 | sisters-in-law, Joyce and Margaret Shenian, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephew and great- |
17 | nieces. She was the sister of the late Lillian Ballard and her husband, Herve, Dr. Popkin Shenian, |
18 | and Kenneth G. Shenian, and the sister-in-law of the late Oscar Muradian, and the aunt of the late |
19 | Edward Alemian and Susan Shenian; now, therefore be it |
20 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |

1 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses its condolences to the Alahverdian Family on the |
2 | passing of Rose Alahverdian; and be it further |
3 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
4 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Lisa A. Johnson and Harry Alahverdian. |
