A N   A C T

RELATING TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY -- THE GOLD STAR FAMILY HIGHWAY

     Introduced By: Representatives Chippendale, Place, and Hawkins

     Referred To: House Municipal Government

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 22-7.4 of the General Laws entitled "Permanent Joint Committee

on Naming All New Buildings, Bridges, Edifices and Other State Constructions" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     22-7.4-140. The Gold Star Family Highway.

     The stretch of route 102 known as Chopmist Hill Road, from Route 44 in Chepachet to

the southern boundary of the town of Glocester shall be assigned the honorary name "Gold Star

Family Highway." The honorary name "Gold Star Family Highway" shall be only identified by

signage installed on the above named stretch of highway. The existing official name and route

numbers in effect at the time of enactment of this section shall not be changed or affected in any

way by the honorary naming of this stretch of highway.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

RELATING TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY -- THE GOLD STAR FAMILY HIGHWAY

     This act would provide an honorary name to a portion of highway on Chopmist Hill Road

from Route 44 in Chepachet to the southern boundary of the town of Glocester, as the Gold Star

Family Highway.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
