H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING THE WINE STORE ON BEING NAMED THE

2018 RETAILER OF THE YEAR BY BEVERAGE DYNAMICS

     WHEREAS, Featuring a vast and enviable array of wine selections, The Wine Store has,

for the second year in a row, been named the Retailer of the Year by Beverage Dynamics, a

national trade publication; and

     WHEREAS, The Wine Store first opened its doors in 1985. It is owned and operated by

Frank and Donna Celio and offers one of the largest selections of wine, beer, and liquor in the

state; and

     WHEREAS, In addition, The Wine Store offers regular in store wine tastings and special

events in its comfy loft area; and

     WHEREAS, Investing in the community, The Wine Store has partnered with many local

businesses and raised funds for numerous local altruistic organizations including, The Westerly

Chamber of Commerce, The Literacy Volunteers, The Jonnycake Center, and Stand Up for

Animals; and

     WHEREAS, Like good wine, The Wine Store has continued to grow and ripen as the

years go by and time advances; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby recognizes and congratulates The Wine Store on being named the

2018 Retailer of the Year by Beverage Dynamics. We moreover raise our glasses and make a

toast wishing them many years of continued success; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Frank and Donna Celio.
