HONORING REPRESENTATIVE JARED R. NUNES FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE

OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

     WHEREAS, The Honorable Jared R. Nunes graduated from Bishop Hendricken High

School. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode

Island; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Nunes is married to the very beautiful Vanessa Nunes and

together they are the proud parents of two adorable children, Stella and Scarlett. He is self-

employed as a contractor; and

     WHEREAS, On November 2nd of 2010, Representative Nunes was elected to the Rhode

Island House of Representatives from District 25, which encompasses portions of Coventry and

West Warwick; and

     WHEREAS, Serving his constituents and the citizens of Rhode Island with distinction

and integrity, Representative Nunes is a member of the House Committee on Labor and the

House Committee on Small Business; and

     WHEREAS, An outspoken and tireless advocate for numerous initiatives, Representative

Nunes has sponsored legislation creating a tax exemption/stabilization plan for his constituency in

the Arctic Village redevelopment zone, increases to the veteran's and elderly tax exemptions in

West Warwick, tax exemptions for residential properties that are in development, an extended

appeals period for motor vehicle excise tax disputes, and a less cumbersome licensing process for

dealers, manufacturers, distributors and leasing companies; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Nunes' public service extends beyond the State House. He is

a member of the Pawtuxet Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Utility Contractors Association

of Rhode Island and earned the pinnacle of achievement within the Boy Scouts of America,

attaining the rank of Eagle Scout as a young man; and

     WHEREAS, The Honorable Jared Nunes has demonstrated an unwavering commitment

to excellence over the course of his career, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on his

professional achievements as he prepares to embark on the next chapter of his life; now,

therefore, be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby honors Representative Jared R. Nunes for his dedicated service to

the people of Coventry, West Warwick, and the State, and extend to him our best wishes for

continued happiness; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Jared R. Nunes.
