RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT - EXPEDITED PERMIT PROCESS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 42-117 of the General Laws entitled "Expedited Permit Process" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 42-117-10. Projects of critical municipal safety concern. |
4 | Municipalities are hereby authorized to request an expedited permit review for critical |
5 | municipal public safety projects of concern, such as city or town halls, police and fire stations, |
6 | road and bridge projects, and school projects. The permit review process for municipalities |
7 | regarding public safety projects of concern shall be conducted in the same manner as set forth in |
8 | this chapter for projects of critical economic concern. Permit fees associated with critical |
9 | municipal public safety projects described in this section are waived. |
10 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
