RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES -- LONG-TERM MANAGED CARE

ARRANGEMENTS

     

     Introduced By: Representatives Tanzi, Ruggiero, Casimiro, Messier, and Vella-
Wilkinson

     Date Introduced: March 29, 2018

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 40-8.13-6 of the General Laws in Chapter 40-8.13 entitled "Long-

Term Managed Care Arrangements" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     40-8.13-6. Payment incentives.

     In order to encourage quality improvement and promote appropriate utilization incentives

5

for providers in a managed long-term care arrangement, a managed care organization may use

6

incentive or bonus payment programs that are in addition to the rates identified in ยง 40-18.13-5.

7

In addition, managed care organizations shall work in consultation with the EOHHS to develop

8

incentives for nursing facilities that demonstrate lower direct care staff turnover.

9

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
