RELATING TO MARIJUANA -- NON-BINDING REFERENDUM | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. There shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the state of Rhode |
2 | Island at the next general election to be held on November 6, 2018 for their approval or rejection |
3 | the following non-binding referendum question: |
4 | "Do you support the legalization of possession and use of marijuana by persons who are |
5 | at least 21 years of age, subject to regulation and taxation that is similar to the regulation and |
6 | taxation of tobacco and alcohol?" |
7 | The votes on the question shall be recorded as "Yes" or "No." |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
