It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 42-66.9-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 42-66.9 entitled |
2 | "Housing for the Elderly - Emergency Generators Required" is hereby amended to read as |
3 | follows: |
4 | 42-66.9-1. Emergency generators required. |
5 | All housing for the elderly complexes, as defined in § 42-66.1-2, which are may be |
6 | serviced by one or more elevators and/or electrically powered chair lifts, and which include more |
7 | than one hundred (100) three (3) residential living units in a single building shall be equipped |
8 | with emergency generators which shall provide sufficient power to provide emergency lighting to |
9 | all common areas and a community room and power to operate the elevators and a refrigerator in |
10 | a common area. Generator systems shall be in accordance with the national electric code and § |
11 | 23-28.24-9. |
12 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
