It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 37-2 of the General Laws entitled "State Purchases" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 37-2-15.1. Adjustment for Rhode Island bidder. |
4 | In determining the lowest responsible bidder on a contract to supply office equipment |
5 | and/or machinery, the lowest responsible bidder shall be a Rhode Island business entity |
6 | conducting business from a commercial building located in Rhode Island so long as its bid is no |
7 | more than five percent (5%) higher than the lowest bid for such contract by a non-Rhode Island |
8 | bidder as so defined. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
