H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ELIZABETH BRUNERO

     WHEREAS, Elizabeth "Betty" Brunero passed away on December 14, 2017. She was

2

predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Stephen Brunero, Esq.; and

3

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Brunero was a longtime advocate for children and affordable housing.

4

She served the Town of West Warwick with honor, integrity and passion as a member of the

5

West Warwick School Committee, as a Certified Housing Commissioner, and as a member of the

6

Board of Directors of Manors 1 and 2. She enjoyed her careers as a kindergarten teacher and as a

7

manager of the St. Francis Wellness Center. Mrs. Brunero's warmth and genuine interest in

8

people was special and she made a positive difference in the lives of countless individuals

9

throughout her life; and

10

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Brunero was also predeceased by her parents Marguerite and William

11

Burns, and her sister, Marguerite Patrie. She is survived by her children, Margaret Caspari and

12

her husband, Robert, Stephen Brunero and his wife, Rhonda, the Honorable Elizabeth Dennigan,

13

Mark Brunero and his wife, Deborah, and Carol Hoxie and her husband, Joshua. She also leaves

14

behind twenty-one grandchildren, her brother, William Burns, and many beloved nieces,

15

nephews, cousins, and friends; now, therefore be it

16

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

17

Providence Plantations hereby expresses its condolences to the Brunero Family on the passing of

18

Elizabeth Brunero; and be it further

19

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

20

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Margaret Caspari, Stephen Brunero, the

Honorable Elizabeth Dennigan, Mark Brunero, and Carol Hoxie.
