RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES AND CARRIERS--RIPTA-TALKING BUSES | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 39-18 of the General Laws entitled "Rhode Island Public Transit |
2 | Authority" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 39-18-4.2. Safe turn alert systems. |
4 | Notwithstanding any state law, regulation or policy to the contrary, no safe turn alert |
5 | system used in the operation of a motor bus that voices messages such as "Caution! The bus is |
6 | turning", shall be utilized in any residential neighborhood in the state. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
