	A N A C T
	RELATING TO SOLEMNIZATION OF MARRIAGES

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, The
2	Honorable Nancy E. Smith, Justice of the New York Court of Appeals, may join Margaret Smith
3	Hickey and John Michael Lerner in marriage within the City of Newport, Rhode Island, on or
4	about August 25, 2018. The Honorable Nancy E. Smith is hereby authorized and empowered to
5	join the foregoing persons in marriage pursuant to and in accordance with Chapter 3 of Title 15 of
6	the General Laws, entitled "Solemnization of Marriages."
7	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
