H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING REPRESENTATIVE JOSEPH A. TRILLO FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE

OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

     WHEREAS, To the immense good fortune of the people of the City of Warwick, the

Honorable Joseph A. Trillo chose a life path that merged his business acumen, political

aspirations, and his extensive aptitude for public service; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Trillo was first elected to the Rhode Island House of

Representatives in November of 2000. He was subsequently re-elected seven times; and

     WHEREAS, Over the past sixteen years, Representative Trillo has lent his knowledge

and his commitment to a myriad of legislative committees. He is a member of the House

Corporations Committee, a member of the Joint Committee on Economic Development, served as

Chairman of both the Joint Commission on Capitol Security and the House Oversight

Commission on Fire Safety, and having earned both the respect and trust of his peers, he also

serves as the House Minority Whip; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to the many hours he spends at the State House, Representative

Trillo's commitment to the community has also included serving as a National Republican

Committeeman, past President of the Rhode Island Alarm Association, a member of the Warwick

Chamber of Commerce, the past President of the National Association of Musical Merchants,

Vice President of the Porta Bella Yacht & Tennis Club, and a former member and past President

of the Cranston Jaycees; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Trillo graduated from La Salle Academy and attended

Emerson College. He is President of AAA Custom Alarms as well as being a highly successful

real estate investor. He is married to Marilyn Cocozza Trillo and the proud father of three

children, Joseph M. Trillo, Deborah Pine and Erika Kruse Weller, his stepdaughter; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Trillo's leadership and tireless devotion to the citizens of the

Ocean State have earned him our unqualified admiration and respect, and he will most assuredly

be missed; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby joins the family and many friends of the Honorable Joseph A.

Trillo in recognizing and celebrating his inspirational career of service to the people of the State

of Rhode Island. We moreover, wish Representative Trillo continued success, happiness and

fulfillment in all his future endeavors; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Joseph A. Trillo.
