It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-3 of the General Laws entitled "Establishment of Regional |
2 | School Districts [See Title 16 Chapter 97 - The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby |
3 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
4 | 16-3-27. Maintenance of Chariho career and technical center. – For so long as the |
5 | Chariho regional school district shall maintain the Chariho career and technical center, the |
6 | department of elementary and secondary education shall not approve the establishment of a career |
7 | and technical program or center in the towns of Charlestown, Hopkinton, Narragansett, New |
8 | Shoreham, Richmond, South Kingstown, and Westerly. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |

1 | This act would provide that, for so long as the Chariho regional school district maintains |
2 | the Chariho career and technical center, the department of elementary and secondary education |
3 | shall not approve the establishment of a career and technical program or center in the towns of |
4 | Charlestown, Hopkinton, Narragansett, New Shoreham, Richmond, South Kingstown, and |
5 | Westerly. |
6 | This act would take effect upon passage. |
